what do you do with your clothes?

just wondering cos ours always end up in a heap somewhere in the tent or being rooted out of the boot of the car.
There has to be a way of being more organised and I'm camping in france for 2 weeks this summer so have to find it..

WE used to keep them in the suitcase in the back of the car. Now they tend to be in the bigger nedrrom with me and dh. We put each persons clothes in a seperate bag to make it easier. We take about 6 metal hangers so we have somehwere to hang a few things.

We take a pop-up laundry bag and a small clothes-airer. The bags of clean clothes stay in the 'big' bedroom with dh and me, and we try to have the LOs' clothes in one holdall, ours in another. It hwlps if the holdalls are the sort that zip open very wide, the zip being in a C-shape, rather than just a straight zip. That way you can see what's there more easily, and pull things out more easily.

Wet things go on the airer, which is outdoors/porch/living-space depending on weather and what part of the tent we are using. Very useful for raincoats!

Filthy kit that we are n't going to be using again goes into the laundry basket only once it is dry, otherwise things...ferment.

We tend to use far less clothes than we expect, keeping a set of 'grubbies' for on the campsite, and cleaner clothes for trips off the campsite. Childrens' grubbies only go into the laundry baasket if they are so sticky that they would attract flies.

Also children run around barefoot and in shorts whatever the weather, even in the rain. Skin dries much faster than shoes or clothing, and wipes clean more easily, too.

I always worry a bit that my dd's will end up looking a bit too grubby , i don't mind it at all (love seeing them a bit wild)just worry people are looking and going ugh.
Does anyone bother bringing an iron, I never have..
Quite like that wardrobe thingy/ something collapsible with shelves would be great just so you can see everything

roffle at iron! Surely not!

I take everything in my rucksack and it stays in there until I wear it. Dirty stuff goes into one of the side pockets.

I would love to go camping with the luxury of a car and a big tent and be all organised and unpack!!

For now I'll have to make do with backpacking

We have used collapsable crates, one for each person, and big IKEA bags, again one for each person. Both work quite well. We are lucky cos have a reasonable sized car (and trailer) and a spare room for storage.

We have one of those plastic greenhouse things and have a shelf each.

Big ikea bags are a god send.

We try and have a smaller popup/beach tent for all our laundry and excess camping gear.

And I have never unpacked before but think i would like to this year, have never been away for two weeks camping with the kids, just want to be a bit organised, but hey, maybe when I get there I'll just chillax and not give a s*e

Yep that the best way Chill out and don't worry about a few creases or a bit of dirt. We have a small mirror that we hang in the tent but tbh I very rarely bother to use it.

I love camping as it allows me to channel my inner slob.
Clothes get chucked in large soft squishy bag in tent and laundry goes in big bag in boot of car.

That makes me feel better- I'm not the only slob!
I always had the sneaking suspicion I was the grubbiest camper on the block. So you're all at it!

Those wardrobe things are in argos and tesco catalogue if you want to pay less for postage or pick up.

we have pop up garden trugs (like laundry baskets but v. cheap from Lidl) - one each & dirty clothes get packed back into the car as soon as they're worn.

I go to the nearest big supermarket and get some of the flatish boxes that they stack the fruit in. As they are stackable we can have one each as our clothes drawers.

I've been thinking those see-through things you put woolies and stuff in and then vacuum out the air would be good- you could see everything and would be good for a bit space saving in the car -no?

Only how would you vacuum out the air in the way home?
Anyone use these?
