Yes I went there about three years ago. It is lovely. Nice swimming pool complex and the best campsite restaurant that we have come across. Absolutely stunning area with beautiful places to visit nearby.

We went with Canvas and stayed in a mobile home. We had a great holiday there. The site is quite hilly but as a result you get lovely views. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back there!

ismisemama we went to the Solieil page last year and it was possibly the best campsite I have been to. A real mix of dutch and english, plenty of english people for the kids to play with. IMHO A brilliant site, we are toying with returning again this year. Great area too, loads to do

we were there for just over a week. The first 4 days it rained, but we visited the caves, went canoeing (from the campsite), went to Sarlat etc. After that the weather was fab. I would highly recommend the site, really nice, clean, lovely owners, big piches, good swimming pool, nice river setting etc etc. TBH I couldn't think of a downside. My fave memery was one evening taking chairs, gas lamps, wine and marshmellows. There were about 4 families and loads of kids toasting marshmallows over a gas lamp!! lots of red wine for me

It is really hard to choose, we did it independantly and used tesco vouchers for the crossing. We stopped in the Loire for one night (Chateau des Marais) as we had had a great holiday there previously. Loved that place too. Then drowve the rest of the way. We nearly booked a Logis hotel is Veirizon on teh way down, (just enroute) but left it too late to book. I would do that next time

Where would you say the best pitches are Crunchie?
The riverside ones are all booked out, don't mind that anyway, but on the map of campsite some pitches seem to be on the poolside of the road , nearer restaurant etc ,I think I'd like to be on the river side of the road, these might be quieter?
But don't know if these are all classed as riverside? You have any idea?

We were in pitch 28!! IMHO I prefered the area we were in. We were nearere the shop/pool/bar which meant the kids could go an get bread etc in the morning themselves. The other area is much further away frm the facilities. However I would not want to be in a pitch right along the road, cars do drive along there. I would choose numbers 1 - 10 If you want to be the other side it is slightly queiter perhaps But all teh piches are really nice
