If you're fasir weather campers I would say Whitsun tbh as Easter is early this year. Right now it's cold at night- Dh works nights and its averaging -1 as he comes home.

personally if you are willing to invest in a fleece PJ suit for the LO I'd say book up (it'd have to be ASAP!) for may day weekend- that can be nice and warm at night and as longa s they have a decent set of PJ's and a hat to sleep in they will be fine.

We're starting with may day but I may or may not stay overnight as LO will be about 5 weeks (not even born yet!)- definitely out for Whitsun

We camp at easter and it can get very cold at night. Usually goes down to 4-5 degrees and, as peachy says, its earlier this year so may well be even colder.

The school hols differ around the country, our kids break up on March 19th and go back April 6th so to earlyr eally. Last year we went end April to a site noted for being exposed in the Mendips and was fine, but would be tooe arly for us this year (baby due March 30th!).

Ah-ha!

big grins because I've been shamelessly promoting that tent since we fell in love with it a year ago LOL! Doesn't wuite work for us becuase of additional stuff we need for the boys safety (because they're SN and bolt through the sides of anything not SIG) but LOVE your choice!

After last summer DH has refused to go camping ever again! Great, now we have a massive tent, all the equipment, a trailer a roofbox etc etc! Looks like I'll be on my own with the kids in a field!

oh dear kbear- sounds intriging- want to share the story?

Report

Well, the story is one of rain, mostly, but a particularly "funny after the event" moment when DH attacked me in the night when I stepped over him to retrieve my beeping phone! There is a thread here somewhere. He thought I was an intruder!

Thing is he's not a natural outdoor kind of man, he likes his telly and he likes to be ironed whereas the three of us, me and the DCs, like our wellies and are not adverse to eating outside in creased up clothes !!

Still, the silver lining is that we are now going to Florida instead, only took me 17 years to talk him into it! Woo hoo!

lol. that does sounds quite funny
hehe reminds me of the conversation i oveheard when we were samping in the summer. 2 mums and their children were camping for the first time, they stayed one night then went to find a b and b because they couldnt find anywhere to plug in there hairstarighteners
i do straighten my haair normally, but am very happy to leave it when we camping, part of the fun for us is the whole not doing as we do normally lol
Florida sounds great have fun!
