Thinking about buying this as it has good reviews.

Need some advice on the following please.

Does the SIG cover the whole tent?

Is the porch a decent size? In the photos that I've seen, it looks sparse in size in comparison to the rest of the tent.

Is the central atrium spacious? (thinking about needing space for twins to play if it raining)

Is there plenty of headroom for someone who is 5'10"?

How much boot space does it take up? (I have a Zafira).

TIA

We've got one - its fab, bought it last year so only got 2 trips in so far. There was plenty of room for my two dd's age 5 and 2 and our friends two boys of the same age to all play in the central part together whilst it rained. My husband is 6ft 5 and its the best tent we found for headheight and bedroom space. I would recommend it but thats only my opinion of course .

Sorry, forgot to say, yes the sig covers the whole tent and it is big, takes up a fair amount of space, but any large tent will I guess

we slide the back seats of our Zafira forward a bit so we can fit our crap essential camping equipment in. Our tent is mahoosive (see my profile) and we all fit in - just, so you should be ok with the Khyam.

spokette - I've been 'camping shopping' today with a friend as we are going camping for the first time this summer. The Kyam has good height in teh main living area but the bedrooms (def one anyway) has a slanted roof and you could not stand up in it.

Dh is 6'3 so this was something I was looking closely at!!

We have decided on the Outwell Montana 6 which has 2 good sized bedrooms and it is the same height all the way through so dh could stand up in the bedrooms and living area. Also, the living area is huge so would be fine if it was raining and we had to be inside (we have 3 children).

Oh, maybe it was a different Kyam I looked at as debbiewebweb has a different view on the height thing! Ignore me!

Might be different then, as we also have it and its really, really tall (240 cm if dh remembers right).

It also doesn't come with a porch although we have bought an add on one.

But if it is, the SIG is great and the atrium very spacious. We have three kids- 4 in any day now- and not an issue, especiallya s you can remove a room which we usually do for storage. We have the fitted carpet as well.

It's not huge to carrya round compaared to Lucy's, fore xample. In our Esapce we only needed the roofbox if we had all 7 seats filled. However, it was a concern with the Space Wagon we have now, and we just bought a carrier system for the car yesterday as we'd never have fitted it all in with the kids as well. Even being packing geniuses (we used to manage 3 kids, tent, equipment for a week in a proton LOL). from what i've seen of the Zafira's the boot isn't it's greatest asset and tbh I think you'd need a roofbox or something with pretty much any big enough tent.

Dh is 5' 5" and can stand in bedrooms- as far as I know height not reduced in this years model though haven't yet seen it (we bought ours last year)

OH I was obviously lookign at a different one - deffo Khyam one - big living area, porch, 2 or 3 beds I think but the bedrooms were kind of in the sloping sides so you couldn't stand in them.

I am thinking of getting this one too, the cheapest I can find it is for £199.95. Does any one know of it apearing cheaper?

You might be right Elphaba, I can't remember him standing in the bedrooms - just moaning all night long about how its impossible to find a comfortable airbed/camping bed etc!!! But he can certainly stand in the middle and the bedroom is plenty big enough for him to sleep in with plenty of room all round.
