Ready Beds - hated the Thomas one, are the adult ones any better quality

I bought a Thomas The Tank Engine toddler Ready Bed last year. It wasn't very big so my toddler only used it once. Was horrified at the really naff quality of the material. The 'sheet' was really thin and was made of yucky material.

Going camping again and am looking at the Adult Ready beds which have sleeping bags that look more substantial - anyone used them?

DH wants DS to sleep in sleeping bag on Thermarest/mat like we do but I know he will slide off, get cold and wake us up so like the idea of the Ready beds.

We have an Argos one, bought several years ago and it's been OK. I've slept in it a few times. The sleeping bag isn't particularly thick but as you say it's great that it doesn't slip off. The material is like a cheap sleeping bag, nothing special TBH, but I found it comfortable enough. It's a bit like this one(ours is junior size but they do adult ones too. I can just about get in it because I'm only 5' tall).

We have the Argos one too, about 18 months now. The sleeping bag was like sleeping in a plastic bag all sweaty but what we do now is pop another sleeping bag over the top of the intact unit- the bag the airbed sits in makes for excellent insulation and works brilliantly, actually find now I sleep better in that than my own bed LOL!

Thanks but I don't understand the bit about popping it over the top of the unit. I thought it was just an airbed with a sleeping bag attached. Do you mean you just use it like a normal airbed? I fancied one so it would stop my LO sliding off.

Thanks for replying - was off to buy one this weekend!

We used to have ordinary airbeds and sleeping bags for our dcs and they did used to slide off, especially if we were on a bit of a slope. The last couple of years we've used the Argos readybeds (adult size) and they've been fine. They have got fleecy liners though for cold nights as the readybeds aren't very thick.
