... let me know if you've got one to sell! I'm seriously addicted at the moment (and I've not even been yet). Am starting by borrowing a friend's tent but am on the look out for a tent - am determined to Thoroughly Enjoy the experience and therefore Need to Buy my own.

lol Dotty, I'm with you there. I just love camping, but haven't actually properly been yet (well with DC in a tent we actually have to erect ourselves). I know a lot about tents now, have possibly spent more time on UKCampsite of late than on MN. I know all the terms, SIG, ZIG, Footprint, vis a vis...and yet somehow I am being thwarted in my master plan of having a cracking holiday in our (donated) tent.

DH has forbidden me to buy a new (big) tent, until we have actually camped in our current one. Boo Hiss.

I am also addicted to just "checking" the tents that are now coming up regularly on ebay.

Slubber - I know what you mean about the UKcampsite! Mind you, it's nowhere near as good as Mumsnet, obviously...

I find UKCampsite really restful (yes I know I am a little odd). No one is passionate or cross or sarcastic or horrid. The 'old timers' (ie those with like 5 golden tents next to their names) are just delightfully earnest about their tents. It's great. Someimes when MN is going a bit full moony I flick over to UKC and read about the merits of the tunnel vs the dome. Get to sleep much easier.

Oh and they have the best tickers in the world.

Why do you think i seek refuge in the camping threads when Mn gets a bit fraught slubberdegullion?

Ooo, Dotty to go back to your original post, World of Camping have got a sale on and the prices seem quite reasonable (I'm a bit like you, I've spent the past 3 weeks researching all things tent like!)
