because their are too many of the buggers camping.

We always manage to get a NT place on a bank holiday but not this time.

We always stay at Langdale but thought we would give Low Wry a turn so arrived Friday tea time - it was full . As was Langdale, we even checked that awful farm campsite at Chapelstile and that was full of bankholiday pissheads. We checked every campsite at Windemere/Ambleside, we drove for hours and hours and tried countless campsites and they were all full.

We ended up sleeping in the car on that bendy uphill road that runs out the back of Langdale site. We didn't have that much choice where to park the car as dp reversed into a passing point so we could plan our night and he ended up getting stuck- the car was wedged at an angle with a drop behind our back wheel. We tried unloading the car in the pitch black ( it was now midnight) thinking that perhaps if we moved the weight in the car we may be able to move - although dp told me qith great sensitivity and tact that we should be OK as I weighed more than all our camping gear and more than balanced it out! I did feel as if I was recreatring the final scene of the Italian job.

It did turn out to be a beautiful night surrounded by the hills and the stars and very scary sheep with luminous eyes.

In the morning we drove to Washead where my tears convinced them to let us on even though it was full.

It actually became an adventure once we had accepted that we were going to be in the car, we were sat out under the stars, (trying not to look the sheep in their very scary eyes) drinking our hot chocolate and toasting our marshmellows - things even got amourous on that hillside!

Dp asked mid thrust if our lovemaking would end up pushing the car off the side of the road to which I told him that even his penis isn't that big

At one point though we did wondfer if we had uncovered some rural dogging site as their seemed to be a fair few cars parked up ont he next bend all flashing their lights at each other.
