What do you cook with when you camp?

We have one of these

Looking around campsite there were some lovely bbqs. We only ever take one or two disposable bbqs.

What do you use?

we use one of these. Only need one ring as I like an EHU for kettle/toaster

We have a camping gaz party grill here which is pretty pefect for us, as we usually just live off freshly bought fish / meats and salds when camping- therefore the large grill is perfect

that Trangia look good - do you put briquettes in it to light it? does it have to heat up like a bbq before you can cook on it?

Trangia isn't a bbq Twototango - it's a meths stove. The little yellow metal thing you can see in the pic is a meths burner.
People love them because they have built-in windshields and because they pack up beautifully with all the saucepans, kettle etc fitting inside them.

We have a 2 burner thingy, I am tempted to pack our small gas BBQ this year too (used the same gas bottle as the stove) BUT we have just invested in loads of other stuff!!

is it possible to actually cook on a trangia - as opposed to just heating stuff up/boiling kettles? are they powerful enough?

We went camping just a couple of weeks ago and took the Trangia, we have 6 children and cooked on it every day! Pasta, sausages, bacon, spag bol etc... HATE cleaning it though, take the brillo pads!

Peachy love the look of yours. I really must buy myself one of those toast making thingies that you put on the hob. I tried making toast over my gas hob between two metal forks last week and burnt my bloody fingers. Very stupid of me - but I tried an now know that it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped.

It ahs a single burner, then you just palce a griddle plate over that. We managed on it for a year before we passed it on, needed bigger really, but was great.
