I know about the tentipi btw- looks lovely; do you need an inner tent- anyone have one? (bit pricey though perhaps)

good luck with that Gess, we would need a door person to prevent escapees. can you do motorhome again?
i guess a boat it out of the question

Dh can oput up our ontario 8 alone actually (well he needs to be able to)

Been in a tentipi, as there is a display near us. No inners, just the one room, I was seriosuly UNimpressed to be honest!

I think we're flogging ours at some point but if you wanted to courier it over or borrow it (sure we could find a midway point easily enough, in Somerset) please feel free

Yes the door person would have to be me or dh- we'd only go for the weekend as we'd have to take it in turns to walk round and round the campsite with ds1 (until he went to bed- idea is he would understand bedtime so we could drink in the evening). If we had bedrooms one would go with ds1.

We do have a 4 man which we might all be able to squeeze in; but is most definitely a 2 person job to put up. Will check out the Ontario. Thanks for the offer Peachy.

Motorhome very expensive and a bit cramped with 3- I'd have to coral ds2 and ds3 inside.

My mum has said next year she wants to get everytone (including some of her siblings and my cousins- all of whom are great and switched on) all to camp together for a weekend- the only rules being 1) that we all get together for a BBQ one night and 2) everyone takes a turn with ds1. Bless her.

The other option I guess is to try one of the ones where they set it up for you for a weekend. DS1 will wear a nappy now so I don't have too worry about wet beds!

One option to consider is the coleman galileo range as they ahve a windshireld that can be 'fenced' in, which would give ds1 an9admittedly small) area of space he could 'own', if that amkes sense- it atathcs to the tent via clips on the side.

i can just picture your DS trying to find a tent with windows/letterbox to peer throu.
we can't do camping escapees and dogs.

I remember you mentioning that one before, Is it a 2 man job to put up or one (bearing in mind it will prob be me doing it )

BTW you can get inners for the tentipi- but they cost about the same again!

Dp just put up a Vango Oregon 600 (6 person) by himself, in an hour, while looking after ds (4)

oh OJ he doesn't bother with letterboxes on campsite- when he hasn't got his head in the washing machines he's trying to get into everyones motorhomes and tents

I know a good dog free campsite, sadly they can't control the escappes though 9can vouvh for that eprsonally LOL, DS3 has a thing about topilets atm- if with me then its the mens, reverse if with dh!)

Not sure about pitching teh coleman tbh, its a rigid so I guess would need lifting into place with two people- the neauty of the Ontario is that its got thin fibreglass poles, so not as hard to bend as some brands (eg gelert) but can be lifted up by one person. two is easier of course, but 1 is possible.

The quickpitches of course are easy for one eprsona s well. Laso Khyam, the khyam webiste has a veideo on (for saddos like me) so you can see how easy- but for weekends they're a bit pricey I think

if you're looking at khyams you could try sporting supplies, they're cheapest place i found for new khyams (rather than old stock/seconds). cheaper than on the website if you call. but can't actually recommend yet as mine's ordered but not yet received, have heard positive reports elsewhere.

A dead ended cave with a portcullis on one end?

How about call the campsite and tell them your situation and ask if there is anyone that can help you pitch? I'm sure someone would help you.

Somewhere like caravan and camping sites would do that, the one in cheddarw ud be ideal as they ahev a room that you can get a key for that has toilet / bath facillities etc all lockable, a family rm- found it invaluable
