Thinking about camping with baby and toddler - where shall we go?

Would prefer not to have to travel too far. We live in North Hampshire, so I was thinking Somerset, or Wiltshire. Would love to hear any recommendations. We'd be going at the end of August, if that helps. Oh, and we're complete camping novices.

Thank you MelissaM

Has anyone been camping in/near the New Forest?

Yes - we've stayed in Hollands Wood (Forestry Commission campsite between Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst). Nice site with good facilities (don't pitch near the road - go for the other side if possible) but if you want to book I think you have to pay for a minimum of 3 nights. Sandy Balls is meant to be a nice site for children too.

I've done a search on the website we use for campsites in the new forest. Many of them have reviews too and we have always found them quite reliable. ukcampsites

OOh Somerset? OK there's a campsite there called broadway House, In cheddar- fantastic baby facilities, we use it regularly with the ds's, we're next planning to visit Whitsun- with DC4 due at Easter LOL!

Would seriosuly recommend, and if you decide to go for it let me know your tent size and I will suggest a pitch- they can usuallya ccomodate that if you do

Dh ahs worked on this site in the past, his good friend runs the (very subtle don't worry) entertainment now, so really can recommend
