Camping

Any recommendations for a campsite in Oxfordshire or nearby?

We want to go camping on Friday for two nights but don't want to go too far from home (Oxford) so we can go after DH leaves work on Friday. I'm trawling through the ukcampsite reviews and getting a bit impatient! Maybe someone here can just tell me the one to go for! Whether they'll have availability will be another matter...

We went here at the end of May for our very first camping trip, and loved it. The tents all go together in a tucked away corner (although not squashed iyswim), and the owners were very friendly.

Not sure if it got flooded though the other week, as very near the river . You could phone them to find out though.

Hope that helps

It was my first choice but it's fully booked. I've finally found one in Wallingford with availability. I've been on the phone for hours! Thanks for your help.

Glad to know it wasn't affected by the floods. It really is a good site. Glad you found one though. Have a good time {smile]

MaryMooCow all others will now pale in comparison to Lincoln Farm Park. We also stayed there in July. It is the best campsite I have been to.

We've just had a lovely weekend at Bletchingdon, the local takeaway will deliver to your tent.

arbs we've been to 2 others since, here which was supposed to be of the same standard and didn't even come close to it, and here which was lovely, but obviously not the same standard. Have learnt my lesson and will not be booking with a large company again.

Off to here on Saturday. Hope its as good as the recommendations on here have led me to believe.

Then it will be time to pack the tent away for this year .

Bo Peeps up in Adderbury is nice (not far from me) or we have two in our village (Barford St Michael). You know the Cropredy festival is on this weekend and there is camping there?

Oh what's the cropredy festival?! I panicked and booked with the first people that got back to me saying they had availability but will be keeping these suggestions for next time. If we want to go camping on Fridays we need to stay relatively near home until we get the hang of packing and putting tent up in no time. Thanks for all the suggestions.
