here
I think it will fit DS1 and DS2 in one room and DD1,DD2 and I in the other. Bit wary of having separate rooms but i can't find anything cheap with one room to sleep 5!

Hi - Try a Gelert Tornado 5 - that's one room for all 5 of you and sells at around £40-£50. Google it and you'll see loads of places that sell it for around that price. May find it even cheaper on Ebay!

Do you live near any camping shops? It's quite a popular tent - or you could ring and see if they could order it in for you?

tortoise ~ i was going to go for the same one for the 4 of us. hadn't thought of them not being in same room. If you zip up main entrance can you not open up the other 2 so you are all sort of still together?

Doodledootoo Cooking not a problem. Won't be cooking! We are going by train and there is no way i can carry loads of camping equipment on my own.

on Ebay but are they really trustworthy tents? Or being cheap are they slight seconds and not as good? I don't want to end up with a disaster.
I need to decid4e before tomorrow really. Buy the Argos one or chance Ebay?

I had an Argos Pro Action Nevada that slept 5 in one compartment. We have just bought a bigger one from ebay.

Hydrostatic head is very poor - lower even than Millets festival cheapies. It would only be of use in guaranteed dry weather (i.e. not this summer).

oh. That doesn't sound good.

Tortoise - how heavy is the Argos package in total?

Airbeds can weigh quite a bit.

1200hh is insufficient, needs to be 2000Hha s a minimum

Is second hand worth it yto you? Just I know of one thats going, a Gelert Cyclone for £70- used once 9they'd take a cheque)

If not, can completely recommend gelert generally, last tent was one and it was excellent

HTH

Peachy 2nd hand is fine if its good.Could only do postal order though.

Argos book says 1200 mm HH is high protection suitable for most conditions.Thats why i thought it was ok.

Another thing about the Argos tent is that you can't stand up inside the middle section (obviously you can't stand up in the bedroom sections either) as the max height is 140 cm.

Is the one in the Ebay link ok? It doesn't say what the HH is though.

Its a good tent- not a sewn in but the bed pods are all so that's OK (and lots of epople like it like that), pretty big (always a bonus), took about 20 minutes to erect iirc

Delivery- think youre in Somerset? Would be free LOL

Only downside ish is the pack is quite heavy- would warn you about that. For a reason (size of tent) obviously

HH3000+, didnt leak in ocrnwall 2 weeks ago ergo is waterproof

If not though would seriously get the tornado, I do trust gelert tents- I botught the cyclone for Mum, and I know my tents (sadddo that i am)- (story went i chose something smaller by Gelert, they didnt ahve so despatched the cyclone as a 'bonus' which is OK, except that Mum and dad dont drive and want something they cn put on the train with them and is smaller)
