Tables/Chairs and Lighting

We're "reasonably" experienced campers pre children and are planning to take the children (3 and 18 months) away this summer for the first time. We've upgraded our 3 man lightweight tent to something a "bit" bigger (ok - we got a tad carried away) and already have most of the things we need.

But ... I'm not sure what to do about eating. We have an adult sized table and two adult chairs but not sure what to do for the children? What do others use?

In our tiny lightweight tent we basically just used a big torch, but again we're thinking we might need something a bit stronger (and maybe something that doesn't eat batteries). Any suggestions?

Regarding table and chairs...when we took our 18 month old for the first time, we didn't take a highchair or anything, just a camping style foldaway toddler chair. To be honest, this was a mistake because she kept getting up and running away during mealtimes!! (Too many distractions I think). But the following year, was much better using the same chair. We used to stand it on an upturned plastic box, so that she could be at the right height for our table. Now she is 3yrs, we have bought a small foldaway table too and she sits at that alongside us. Can you hire highchairs at all at your campsite?

Re. lighting, will you have electric hookup? We ensure we do, so that we can use a lead and proper electric light for our tent. In addition I bought a small wind up torch this year, useful for when reading in bed etc.!

Hope it helps.
