.... went with a friend who i have known for a long time and thought i knew pretty well.

First night, i discover my air bed has deflated by about 7pm. Tell the friend and she says "well don't think you are having mine". . Now bear in mind that this is MY tent, MY air beds (both of them) and she is borrowing everything this weekend. Quite shocked at her reaction so mentioned the above, casually, and she still insisted that she was more than happy that she had been given the good one and sod the rest of us. So i retire to bed with two small children on a flat air bed whilst she flakes out on a double fully inflated air bed on her own .

Next day, the kids are in the playground, a bit of a distance from our tent. I can see them most of the time but occasionally they are blocked by a neighbouring tent and i stand up to check they are still in the playground. Big sighs from the 'friend' "Oh god parents are so suffocating these days, don't let their kids breath, where the hell do you think they are going to go". I explained I couldn't relax if i couldn't see them, bearing in mind they are both only 6 years old. And she went into a big speel about how she used to walk to school at 4 and how we are all storing up trouble for the future with our suffocating parenting ways.

Jeeeesues, I won't go on as it's very boring, but let's say I won't be going away with her again. She doesn't have kids, obviously. i really think our friendship has been damaged this weekend, no going back.

How horrid. Do you suppose she is jealous?

Sometimes you just get to see a different side of people when you're out of your normal circumstances.

I cannot believe she didn't give you your OWN airbed back, especially since your children would have gone to sleep before her?

Blimey! She sounds a bundle of laughs. I assume she isn't normally like this?

You should have sent your kids to share her airbed.
She sounds like a twunt.
