Cornwall today - will we get there?

So, should be going in 3 to 4 hours but saw last night that the Gloucester/Bristol area has flooding although the forecast for Cornwall isn't that bad.
We have to go down the M5 from Birmingham - anyone know how bad that is? I've looked at BBC weather and AA but can't see if anything's closed. We are staying in Exeter tonight, but I don't know if we'll get that far! Anyone in that area know how bad the roads are? Just wondering whether to wait a day really.

DH is dithering because apparently the M5 is moving.. I'm trying to convince him 8 hrs in a car with a 7 and a 3 yr old will NOT be a holiday...

Have a look at www.trafficmap.co.uk/ for latest road situation. We were supposed to be going from Warwickshire to Gloucester today, but decided we'd never get there and have stayed at home.

We're not going today - have called campsite and hotel, both v relaxed about it, hotel in Exeter said they're expecting lots of cancellations due to the weather, now HOPING to start out early tomorrow am and go straight to Cornwall and stay in hotel on the way back next week.
No food in the house - so Pizza Express for tea!
Aaaaaand breathe.

Sounds like a good decision. Sensible.

Of course others will decide to carry on and travel and add to the general chaos.

There was a baby boy born on the M5 this morning!

Hope you've made it ! We came back yesterday and encountered no problems (didn't go as far up M5 as Bristol though).
