is it a tunnel tent?

If so then you should be ok as you can pitch it 'length on' so leaving a decent firebreak inbetween you and next door.

Ous is about that with our canopy included and we have never had any problems.

Ours is 6.5m x 7m so is pretty large (not a tunnel tant) But everywhere I have looked, only one wants to charge for 2 pitches. All the rest will take our tent no problem.

it's not a tunnel - is an orion 6 does that make a difference?

We've had some problems with our 7.5m x 3.5m tunnel tent. Some wouldn't have us at all, some couldn't guarantee a pitch next to our friends smaller tent because they had specific pitches for large tents ! But we've had plenty of sites that don't find it a problem

Hi Cam - thanks again for all your advice earlier - still dithering slightly between Orion 5 and 6 but think will go for the 6. 7 would be just too self-indulgent of us. Wish we could go see but the nearest place I've found one on show is about an hour and a half away and DH doesn't want to spend all of Saturday doing that

Debbie - I thought it was only the 9m by 9m satellite pod monsters (apols to anyone who owns such a magnificent tent ) that caused problems

oh well, fingers crossed

the caravan and camping club allow ours with the canopy on, but only just in one dimension (7.5 X 5m ). As we like to camp with them at least twice a year thats important for us. Detachable canopies (or rather attachable ones as they are sold seperate) are handy for pitches of limited size ime.

DH had to speak to someone at the C and C club today and they discussed tent sizes - DH was told that the club sites won't accept anything over 5m now, although sooo many modern tents are bigger than that that it suggests that some must and the only way to be sure is to phone ahead.

Ah the C&C won't accept anything more than 5m in one dimension- its longer in the toehr, trust me we use them A LOT. I think its 7.5 metres. I ahve ther most up to dayte documentation close so can look?
