ok I am organising a camping trip for a whole bunch of friends, but we're coming frm all over the place (aberdeen, newcastle, manchester, london)
so I need somewhere relatively central, am thinking nottinghamshire/derbyshire,. or possibly as far as cumbria
luckily my scottish friends are willing to have a slightly longer journey than the rest of us lol

any thoughts??

Bumping for you. Can't recommend any sites there as we have stuck to SE & the Forest of Dean.

I like a bit more living space in my tent (for when it rains) and they have some good bargains at the Outdoor Megastore

I'd go for the Swale because you can open the living area right up. Tents can get so hot and stuffy which is great in the bedrooms but not when you just to sit in the shade.

Is Norfolk out of the question. We stayed at Banham last year. Lovely site. Banham zoo is next door and you pay once and can go in every day free. Great for the kids.

Pitch where you like if you don't want a hook up. Great for a meet up with lots of friends because you can have a corner to yourselves.

Callow Top in Ashbourne and Golden Valley near Heage both in Derbyshire, have had short stays at both and both seemed nice with good facilities although the latter (brand new this year I understand) seemed a bit crowded.
