I WANT TO GO!!!
Can someone help me find a cheap probably 4 man tent for me to test out with the family to see if we like it?
Although I don't think I'll ever manage to persuade dh to go so would probably just be me & dd having girly holidays!

I wouldn't feel safe camping, is that how others felt before they tried it?

whoops can sell you our one from last year..bought in may and used 3 times but now have to get bigger due to impending arrival of DB and we also decided we really liked camping. Would only want about £30 plus postage?

I'd worry about mad axe man coming to get us! That and all the creepy crawlies. I'm sure DH would love to go camping, so would the kids, but I am a big wimp.

Nemo - that sounds good - I'll check with dh and see what he says! (although I usually end up getting my own way )

When we went all the people camping around us were lovely and there was generally a nice atmosphere. Also I didn't go camping in a field or city centre car park, lol. If you stay on a caravan/camping site then there will be security at the gates. But is not something that has bothered me TBH. Creepy crawlies don't either.

I need to find Surfermum & Sparkler too to see if they are up for camping one weekend! (could be dangerous though!)

We camped out in the garden! Only a 4 person tent with me and 4 DC in it so a bit of a squash. Need to invest in a bigger one this year i think! Might even one day progress to a camp site.

If you were to buy said tent, and I were to get it into my head that camping would be fun... can I borrow it?

Meant to be doing Glastonbury this year but not sure if we are going to be able to find the money for my mum's ticket... thinking that will be an in at the deep end thing, and if we can survive that with children, then normal camping'll be a doddle!

whoopsfallenoveragain · 30/12/2006 22:51

lol - you're brave doing Glastonbury with the kids!
I'm only planning on camping with dd to start with - ds is still to much hard work to go anywhere at the mo
