We're going soon and I'm suddenly panicking at all the bad reviews I've found. Eek!

Any good ones to reassure me?

I'm taking my toddler and baby for the first time.

What do the bad reviews say? I have only been once, on New Year's Eve, so possibly not terribly representative, and a few years back now, but I quite liked it. Being in the woods, having your own little dell appealed to me.Having to take your stuff from the car to the pitch by wheelbarrow was a bit of a pain, so maybe don't overpack. Do you have someone to help with the children?

I seem to recall others in my group felt there were too many rules, but I am not quite sure. I didn't have a major problem myself.

Thanks so much for the response. My DH is coming too but thanks for the tip about the barrow!

I think to be honest the bad reviews are for people looking to party and we definitely won't be so it's probably ok. Just a bit nervous that the baby will wake everyone else up!

Well, the wheelbarrow thing may have changed of course - it is a long time since I was there. But if you still pitch in little clearings, I can't see that they could let you take your car there so it probably does still apply.

I think they were quite strict about noise (certainly music) after 11pm I think. But like you say, that is unlikely to be an issue for you.

Don't worry about your baby. Mostly people hear a baby cry and turn over with a sigh of sympathy and a feeling of relief they are not the one having to get up. Unless you leave him or her to cry for hours (which I am sure you won't) it is just one of those things. And you would be surprised how little babies do actually disturb people. It sounds so loud in your own tent you think it must be impossible to sleep through but it really isn't.

I hope you have a lovely time and would be interested to hear how it is these days.

It's impossible to get a booking there so they must be doing something right!

I stayed on the adult-only side of the site and loved it.

Had a good wander through the main site and it looked great.

I think woodland camping can get a bit dank if the weather is not hot, so try and camp where the sun gets through.
