Cleaning a tent?

Ugh! Just got our tent out of the garage and it seems someone (I'm looking at you DH!) put it away without airing it last year. It's smelly and has patches of mould on it - especially the clear 'window' bits. I've just attacked it with some fairy liquid, but it's not really working. Any top tips?

Thank you!

Don't know about tents, but Dettol Mould & Mildew works a treat on the shower curtain....

Make sure you use it somewhere very well ventilated, mind. Ideally outside!

I think you'd need to be very careful not to degrade the fabric and lessen it's waterproof ness .

I'm sure you'll find proprietary tent cleaning stuff if you google . Personally i'd go with leaving it out in this blinding sun .

Sorry. I meant to come back with an update. I googled a lot and dh spoke to someone in one of the outdoor shops in town. In the end we soaked it in a bath of diluted Milton overnight, put it up to dry it out , then sprayed it with a solar/reproofing solution. Some of the stains are still there but the smell has gone and I'm confident it will keep us dry!

Thanks for your ideas.
