This will be my first ever camping trip and although my hubby has been to festivals before he has never camped with a 7 month old, 10 year old and me!

We have what I think are all the basics but are there any essentials I should take?? What do I dress my baby in for sleeping, I don't want him to be too hot or cold?

I am beginning to think that I will be packing for every possibility and that the car will be fit to burst!

We are going camping with a 7 month old next week, it will be our first time with a young baby too so interested in this thread! We took eldest for the first time when he was just over a year and we had a great time. He is now 3.

I'm putting dd in a vest and fleecy sleep suit, then taking a grobag and cellular blankets so I can adjust/layer up as necessary. Also a cotton hat.

When we took my ds it was a warm weekend in early September and he was fine in just his sleep suit and didn't need extra blankets, but clear nights can be startlingly cold when you're camping and catch you out. The coldest I've been was in Wales in May.

Woolly hat just in case. Waterproof for sitting on wet grass. Sun suit.

I've been freezing in August before I learned NEVER to leave my long johns at home Grin.

We cyclecamp with a one year old, you don't need as much as you think!
