Cool box help!

Decided to invest in a cool box for our camping trips, we usually go for 3 nights with the occasional week long trip. There are 5 of us ( 2 adults and 3 children under 4) and unfortunately for us they won't eat canned food (baked beans, soup etc) so looking at a fair sized box to house all our food. I'm torn between the iceytek 56ltr, Coleman xtreme 67ltr or the igloo maxcold 67ltr. I'm in love with the iceytek but not sure if the extra space of the other 2 would be better and is it really worth the extra money. Please can someone help me make a decision... I didn't spend this long deciding on what house to buy!!

I have an Icey Tek 55l (is the 56l the long box?) and love it :) We toyed with the long box but it actually wouldn't fit in our car and the square one is not much better
It's amazing how much stuff you can actually fit in it and it's mystical cold keeping properties will amaze you for years to come :o

Yes it is the long box as if i get that one I can slide it along the floor of the back seat (just about) freeing up boot space. How do u find the size of it?

I was going to get one from lidl tomorrow. I saw them in there at £8.99. I didn't realise there were posh ones!

Lisa it's bloody huge :o
My original intention (like you) was a long box that would fit behind the front seats while still allowing DS space to stretch his legs. After many hours of deliberation and measuring we concluded that DS would only have space for his legs if he sat very demurely with them leant to one side like a coy young lady :o
The square box fits our boot nicely and stores copious amounts of beer artisanal organic produce. The problem we found is that carrying it when full is a two man job and it only just fits through our loft hatch in its original box. It's also a bit "ostentatious" for an afternoons picnic
Ideally I would have gone one size down but the intention was that we would use it for 1-2 weeks in France so we would need the space then.

We have a 40l Iceytech, and have just taken it away for a week. It is enormous, we got the most stupid amount of food in it, I really don't know what you would put in a 67l.

What happens when your kids get bigger and need to put their feet in the footwell.
Where will you put the cool box?

Yes gobblers More Wine :o

The greater volume also allows extra opportunity for The 4 Steps:

  1. struggle to open catches
  2. Lift lid very carefully
  3. Extract desired item with the air of a magician pulling a rabbit from an ear
  4. Smile proudly and pass said item around for others to marvel at it's still coldness
