Anyone any solutions ?

I use several memory foam cushions at home ( but of course also have a head board ) but think too bulky and heavy to take .

Looks good to me! I tend to hang out new plastic stuff on the washing line for a good few days to get rid of the stink, it works really well.

Hang the fucker out of the window or just ask a friend to have out for you. Should be sorted pretty quickly in hot weather TBH.

I folding sun bed that has a top end that can be put in an upright position? Then you will have more control of the angle than on that inflatable device.

Would you put a roll out mat or SIM on top of the flat bit of the inflatable device? Wouldn't it slide down because your leaning top half would push it away?

Well, yes, in you put the SIM on top of the mat part of wedge things are going to go pear shaped. Slippage and a gap at the base of the wedge. The wedge clearly needs to be on top, as in a normal bed.

Well, yes, you'll have to to stop the wedge slipping due to lack of wall / headboard. You'll surely put a blanket and sheet over it?

why not try fastening the wedge to the mat with some sticky back Velcro before putting a fitted sheet on, that should do the trick I think? x

The reviews for that wedge are pretty bollocks though and looking at the pictures it's hard to see how you would be able to sleep propped up on it as to be seated you'd have your head higher than the top.

Would something like this work better? reclining camping chair

Not cheap and not small so depends on if it would fit in your car /tent but looks much more comfortable plus you could use it in the day for sitting on too?

Mmm - I think I'd find the arms constricting and worry about the legs damaging the tent groundsheet ...

I know what you mean about the reviews - guess I thought at that price and only used inside a tent I might get away with it .

I use an exped synmat with a chairkit - definitely works (I'm feeding a 14 month old), but not cheap! A folding seat of the type that you can use on a boat (google bum buddy) works on a normal mat. (We cycle camp and they are a little large to carry for us, but I have used them when car camping).

cyclecamper - what kind of chair kit did you use ? I see the angling sites offer a chair add on and think that's what you mean . But hasn't it got metal bits that would connect to the chair that dig in ?

What about a fishing chair / bed to give you better support for your head but without the arms? Loads for varying prices in go outdoors.

MMmm the inflatable chair bed looks nice ,but bulky and I'd have to buy a pump .

Perhaps I should take my memory foam pillow + others . Maybe I could secure to sim via pillowcase and stick on velcro somehow ....
