Help - Campsite in Norfolk - short walk to beach and campfires? Too much to ask?

We are looking for a campsite in Norfolk that is an easy walk to the beach (for small children 2,3,5) and that preferably allows camp fires...oh and dogs...I can't seem to find one that offers all of these things, but it's hard to tell when people say 'short walk to beach' if they really mean it...iyswim. We are not very fussy about facilities! Has anyone found a campsite that offers all these things? Thanks

We've been to Diglea, near Hunstanton. People certainly had fire pits and dogs when we went. It's a 10 minute stroll to the beach, so would be a bit quicker with children in pushchairs. The beach is just a beach though - there's a cafe and amusements a little way back, but there aren't any public loos, for example.

I don't think your ideal campsite exists in Norfolk.

Pmewoods campsite at Wells is on, or jus behind, a truly magnificent beach, but they don't allow fires.

there's Waxham Sands campsite- but again no fires, and High Sands creek at Stiffkey - on the marsh and a walk to the beach / sea across marsh, beautiful location - but no fires.

Breck Farm allows cam fires and is v close but not walking distance to the coast, including a good nearby beach at West Runton, and a longer drive to the sandy expanses or Wells, Holkham or Brancaster.

Have to agree with CharmQuark, what you descibe is a very rare (but not completely extinct!) beast in any area I'm afraid. Good luck.

I'd recommend Breck farm too but agree its not walkable to beach.

Stiffkey is nice, and you can see seals on the sandbank too...

But much of the beach coast in N Norfolk has pinewoods and heathland -and there have been heath fires at Salthouse and Kelling in the past so maybe it is a risk.

Oh I see, yes. I am not that familiar with the area. I think we will try Diglea and see what it's like. Fires in pits are still fires...thanks for the responses.

I've spent the last 3 days going round in circles tearing my hair out trying to find a dog-friendly campsite near the Norfolk coast that allows campfires and will let us take the PruVan.

Then I remembered this thread, quick call to Breck Farm and job done!

This thread is really handy, have been looking for a birth norfolk site. Farmerfreds play centre actually looks ok for an indoor play place too, decent sounding food. Yay :)
