congrats! tis exciting. we just bought our first too and are going on the 9th of sept for tents maiden voyage. we got an outwell indiana 6 for dh, me and dd 2y and ds 6 mos. we've been a few times with friends and found if you lower your expectations (of being organised, kids going to bed on time etc) and roll with the punches its lots of fun!

was that to me SS? wish i'd asked you before we bought! we loved the peakland brookfeild but it only had 3000mm and we thought we'd play it safe and go for the outwell with 5000mm...but you think 2000 is enough?

Congratulations!!

It's hard work with little ones BUT they love it. If you have never been camping before can I suggest a night or 2 somewhere local before you embark on a week or whatever? (of course, you will now tell me you were a seasoned camper pre-kids!)

unfortunately dont know how to do links!! however website is:

www.yeomansoutdoor.co.uk, then you have to do a search for 'ashover'. its shown as £179.00 but at the exhibition is £150.00. its probably last seasons/end of line.

Nah, never been camping in my life but Dh went loads when he was a teenager. i just think its a great way to get out & about and its cheap, convenient and we can go at a couple of days notice... no pre-planning...

We bought our new tent from Yeoman's this weekend, we weer up in the lakes in a tiny tesco tent that was lent to us and after a frezzing cold damp night we decided to trade it in!
