Camping

The perfect campsite - what is your heart's desire?

following on from the 'house by the sea' thread - I'm still looking for the perfect campsite.

I'd like chilled wine delivered to my pitch at 7.30pm with 'real' wine glasses.

What do you need?

Lucy GET A FRIDGE

I found mine brilliant this year (I think you saw my thread about shall I shan't I - well I did). We were camping when it was 34 during the day, and there was me making dinner sipping a cool glass of rose

However my hearts desire for the perfect site would be the perfect campshop. Actually where we stayed this year was almost that. French sites just have MUCH nicer stuff. I used to go to our campsite shop 2 or 3 times a day!! Morning for bread/croissants, lunchtime for cold drinks or salad stuff, eve for more bread etc. English sites just don't have that fab bread, fresh salad stuff etc that france seems able to do

I want proper EHU's that don't trip if you sneeze on them (I mean ... what's the point?!), hot water toilet paper and soap provided in all toilet blocks.

Yuk no not soap then you would have to share it with people...

We went to the isle of wight & the campsite we stayed on had lovely fresh bread/cakes,crossiants every morning & when we went to the shop in the morning it was still hot where it had been baked it was gorgeous.

I agree we need to invest in a fridge because we had a coolbox & those things are crap.

Bracelands have liquid soap as do many service stations... surely can't be that bad

I know, i know crunchie....it's just that I never seem organised enough to buy/remember to put the wine into the cool box - it would be lovely if someone just turned up with a bottle and 2 wine glasses.

Agree totally about the campshops too!

oh and I'd like pitches big enough to put your tent / canopy / car onto and still have somewhere nice to sit outside.

Caravans get a space for the van, awning space, enough for a windbreak / corral and a car park space.

I'd like
big pitches on a beautiful site with sea views and own private beach..accessed through a few fields of cows

a van selling fresh bread and homemade cakes/pastries every morning.

Spotless toilets (and i mean spotless) with liquid soap above every 2 sinks...and separate cubicals with sinks and mirrors. i want fresh flowers in the toilets.

I want proper showers (no button malarky) with a completely separate dry area for your clothes.

Fish and chip van visiting once a week ...or Indian food van...that would be good

all the other stuff i want ample of...freezer for blocks/laundy sinks/washing up sinks (no waiting)

and most importantly since this is MY hearts desire....

No tw**s allowed..and i want to be able to screen them first!

God yes spotless showers without sodding timed push buttons!!

Actually I went to one with this, in was near perfect in Cornwall except the shop wasn't great - picky aren't I!!

Perfect pitches, pool, playground, beach (stoney) in walking distance, SPOTLESS bathrooms etc etc. Recommended by Mumsnet! carlyon bay

I found the perfect campsite. Cypsela in Northern Spain. Been there 5 times. Lovely clean shower blocks. Small baths for LOs. Lovely ceramic baby baths set in worktops for babies. Everything so well thought out. Perfect.

And... forgot to add.... the LOs baths had hand shower attachments so you could wash hair easily.
