October halfterm - where to go

Thinking of going away October half term somewhere in England or Wales so somewhat vague. We are planning on hiring a campervan as I'm feeling a bit wimpy about the cold.

Anyone recommend any good campsites that are open at that time of year? Somewhere where we can have campfire would be nice but not essential. Kids are 4 and 5.

I was thinking of a featherdown farm camping trip, it's a halfway option between camping & creature comforts and it is on a working farm. You can have open fires and lots of optional extras if you want.

Thanks raisah. Featherdown farms are a good idea - they look very cool.

We've been to Red Bank Farm in Lancashire in October and its been lovely - the ehu pitches are limited to just 3 so need to book but they have an amazing view across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District..... its a bargain site, has a lovely cafe on site and theres little petting farm on site as well and you can have a fire which is fairly essential in October!

Or the other extreme is haven sites? Lots of indoor things if it's cold, and pitches from £5 a night!
