Well the title says it all really.

Our first camp is at half term and Fforest Ffields and have been wanting a Cobb for the past two seasons - this year I can have one?

Help please as I really really want one at a decent price and preferably with some accessories.

Where are all the posters saying 'oh yes, I got mine for 50p from this charming little website'? [optimist]

I can't remember where we got the Cobb from but it was def more than 50p Grin We got the wok and griddle from BBQ World last year - again not what I would consider cheap but seemed the best deal and we do get more use from the Cobb as a result. While you're about it I would also order some Australian heat beads from them as well as some Cobb briquets. We use the heat beads when we want to cook for a long time (i.e. whole chicken followed by griddled veg). We use the briquets when we want it hot fast but it doesn't need to last too long. Does that help a little bit??

Thank you, cheerup. That site looks a bit cheaper than the official cobb site. I'm not sure whether to buy the basic cobb package with the roasting rack, or whether to buy a kit which includes more accessories. I was thinking of the frying pan and the griddle, but I guess I could just use a normal frying pan instead, the only difference being that it wouldn't fit in the bag with the rest of the cobb kit. I wish I could be more decisive instead of dithering and delaying.

We dithered for ages too but don't regret the purchase. I personally wouldn't bother with the frying pan - if you just want to do eggs and bacon a small gas burner is a lot easier, quicker and probably cheaper. It really comes into it's own for roasting or doing stews/casseroles etc as well as a BBQ (although probably only for max 4 people). We will do things like chicken or lamb on the cobb and then use this for boiled potatos or couscous, rice etc.
