There are some beautiful ones in the Gower near Swansea. Have a look on Google and lots should come up. The Rhossili one is right on the beach

We've stayed at Cwmcarn loads of times. It's a lovely site and has a brilliant BBQ area and playground at the top of the mountain...we walked up there once but I'd recommend taking the car if you've lots of stuff to carry Grin!!

I'm also looking for a site in South Wales within walking distance of a beach if any can recommend one? Would be nice to have a playground but would prefer no clubhouse.

Three Cliffs Bay campsite. Last time I went it def had no club house or playground but the campsite is on top of a cliff, beach beneath. You could camp literally feet away from the lane down to the beach. Its a steep walk but beach is amazing in great weather, loads of rock pools for the kids and the when the tide comes in it sort of snakes around and through the beach which kids love to play in as its really shallow for a while. Oh and there is a small castle ruins and when we were there are load of horses just ran past us!

I haven't been there yet but I am quite excited about //www.campbyastream.co.uk, Cwmnanthir campsite, a lovely, small non-commercial site which allows campfires!

Nicholsons Farm in the Gower was great. Plenty of space even in peak season, a fab farm shop that sells great icecream and pasties and cooked breakfasts.
Fabulous beach a short walk away, downhill to the beach, but quite hard work walking back up!
No play area, but there was a rope swing where all the kids gathered. Really quiet at night.

We stayed at Nature base - really small site, back to basics but really well done, just down the coast from Aberystwyth. Gorgeous beaches just a short drive away, great for children (feeding the animals etc) and very un-commercial.

Kennexstone is our favourite at the Gower - not walking distance to the beach though. Simple site, good size pitches and clean facilities, and the owners are fab.
