Hi just wondering if anyone has had experience with negative calorie food and if so what their thoughts were?

It's a myth I'm afraid. No foods burn more calories than they contain (if that's what you mean?).

Noooo, there's no point going down that road!

Some food has very low calories - correct. It is good to eat plenty of those. But getting into a plus and minus calculation of how many calories are used in digesting the foods is just madness.

Makes complete sense to me, Willie, on the shopping list they go.

Technically, though, that makes them a zero calorie food, which is a good start. I am interested in negative calorie food. What could I possibly eat to erase the Frappuccino I had earlier today? That's around -300 kcal I need to find somewhere.... Wink

I've done it before-made the majority of my diet salads and veg, usually in order to lose weight before an event, quickly. It works.

It is a myth if you take it literally, because a food on a 'negative calorie' list DOES contain calories. However some foods have so few, that the process of digesting them burns off more-they're basically just very low calorie foods. And making them the majority of your diet will result in weight loss.
Not something to be done long term, though-not enough nutrients.
Weight loss can be achieved if you change your diet to make one of your meals predominantly negative calorie (having a large green salad for lunch for example).

No such thing.

The common myth is celery, but that is only true because of the digestion, not the actual consumption.
