Cous cous and bulgar wheat salads are.very low cal and very filling. I particularly like bulgar wheat ( with grated carrot, coriander, mint and a spoon of harissa.

If you have a flask soups are almost all low calorie goodness.

I also like a large prawn cocktail for lunch- 100g king prawns, 50g smoked salmon, mixed salad, spring onions, cucumber and parsley, with a tablespoon of Marie rose sauce (which I usually add a tablespoon of water too as it's very thick) is only 264 calories and very filing and delicious.

I can't actually take credit- it's a riff from the hairy dieters version, but a bit less posh (they don't use asda Marie rose mixed with water for a startGrin ) I find lots of 'starters' actually serve well for a lunch. They're basically small Mains which is what lunch is.

Pasta salad, salad with cheese in it, salad with olives in it, salad with nuts in it, salad with onions if you're not going to breathe on anyone for a while. Green leaves, boiled potato, boiled egg, tuna and creamy dressing salad.

Mackrel on toast, sundried tomato paste and squished up avocado on toast, cheese and grilled tomatoes on toast, soft boiled egg with toast dunked in it.

Vegetable soup, chicken soup, fish soup, ham and pea soup, noodle soup, tomato soup, three bean soup, last night's leftovers soup, etc.

Chicken, salad, beef, cheese, ham, grated carrot, roast veg, raw veg, pickle, olive, whatever else you can find wrapped in a wrap. Some shredded lettuce and some sort of spread like hummous or something intended for stirring into pasta gets spread on the wrap before chucking everything else in.

I am hungry now... Grin

Egg and toast ( Warburtons small blue loaf) or omelette. Soup. I like crisp bread / ryvita with Philadelphia and cucumber and packet of wotsits or quavers. I try to stick to 300 cals for lunch. Even a mcdonalds salad bowl. Yum!

My staple is tin of tuna, dollop of light mayo, lettuce, spinach, sweetcorn, beetroot and carrot with black pepper. Delicious and low cal.
If I need protein and carbs for a work out day I'll have tuna, mayo, hardboiled egg and a little bit of whole wheat pasta.

A fave of mine has always been scrambled eggs and a bit of cheesewith a side of avocado and whatever meat you fancy! Today I had a few slices of peppered beef. I always find the higher protein/fat lunches keep me fuller for longer.

Have you ever tried the John West Light Lunches? I try to avoid too much packaged food and to be honest they're probably not too tough to make yourself but they're great for a quick go-to lunch. Low cal and always find them filling. They are a bit pricey though.

I also love making giant salads and throwing it whatever I feel like. Usually lots of pulses, sometimes add some fruit to it! I love waldorf salads too.

Lettuce wraps can be great. Basically a sandwich but using lettuce instead. Sounds boring but you can have so many more of them for the same amount of calories as a bread sandwich.

I sometimes make decounstructed sushi.. I have tried making actual sushi but it didn't turn out great...so sometimes I will cook up some rice and just have it with some avocado, salmon, tuna. I also love chopping up tomatoes, red onions, avocado, coriander, add some sweetcorn, a squeeze of lime juice and have that with rice cakes or ryveta. Yum yum :)
