Help me need to make rocket cake ASAP

(3 Posts)

I would make a flat one cut from a rectangle cake. If you do a google image search for rocket cake there are some really cool ones.

You could either make a flat (2 dimensional rocket lying down) cake so oblong for body of it, triangle for nose cone, cover and make fins, etc from ready to roll icing. Or you could make a 3D one, cylindrical cake (swiss roll type) with conical nose, cover and make fins, etc from icing.

I have made some for my DCs from bought cheap madeira cakes in the past, children are not cake connoisseurs, if it looks good they'll love it

Its my ds1 bday party next weekend but he is sharing it with a friend. The only thing they both like is rockets.
I'm used to making healthy adult cakes but tried a child's cake tonight and it was a flop!
Please help me. I need a very simple guide to making a rocket shaped cake or cake with rocket on top. I have no icing skills.
