restorative justice for dealing with bullying - any experiences of this?

I would be just so grateful for your view on this:

has anyone had experience of going through this with their child, either from a 'wrongdoer' or bully's perspective, or from a victim's perspective?

does it work?

please share your experiences. I am not entirely sure it is going to be worth putting my child through it - some anti bullying charities seem to think it is a waste of time, whereas others seem to think it very effective.

please please help me on this!

thanks in advance

I have recently withdrawn my 8 yo DD from school after years of low level but indidious bullying. When the school finally started taking our concerns seriously they adopted a restorative justice approach.Sorry to say i don't rate it highly. It can only work if the children have a sense of decency to appeal to !In our case the 8/9 yos children didn't whether because of their privileged Me Me Me backgrounds or whether they just were too young to have much of a sense of empathy, or at least one that overrides their desire to be part of a clique I don't know.
