I've read some post on this section, and many of them, I could have written myself about my dd 3 years ago. Things are so much better now and I wanted to let you know.

DD had such a bad time in Primary, year 4, 5, and 6 being the worst. Poor DD just didn't understand the nastiness that can come from girls in this age range. She never felt she fitted in. All I can say is she is so much happier in Secondary. The first year, Year 7, she was still upset and had many bad days, as she pulled away from the old group that still were causing her trouble. They still do sometimes, but less so and she avoids them and knows how to deal with it now.

She started to make new friends by the end of year 7 and is now in year 8, happy and content and school is a good place for her, and she likes it. She still is not bothered about joining many clubs, but she does do two outside of school and if she wants to stop, she knows she can.

We read this book in year 7, and she read some bullying sites on the internet. If you cherry pick the pages, to suit, it's a good read and proved helpful for us anyway.

Most libraries have the book, if not ask them to order it in for you.

Great to hear things are better for you.

We also finally had a good resolution to the three years of bullying that my daughter suffered. It taught us a lot (like how schools go into denial) and as a result I published an article that summarised our experience and what we learned about how to tackle the school. You can read the article HERE. There's also links to the organisations we used to research what action we should take; the helpline that saved my sanity on a couple of occasions when things were really bad and the diary I kept.
