Daughter bullied by teacher?

I think my DD1 PE teacher is bulling her. For week's she has been really upset on Monday's when she has this teacher and has come out of school upset. I have been ignoring it as she can be sensitive but today I think what she has been telling me is really true and I feel awful. She was collected from school by grandpa, her last class is PE and she came out in tears having trouble breathing. She couldn't tell him what upset her so he carried her to the car. She came home still in tears and asked to go to bed as she was too upset. All she said was the teacher was mean , I could get no sense from her.

I called two mums who have kids in the same class and there daughters said DD1 came last at tig so as punishment she was to do 100 laps around hall. She was upset by this and said to her friend the teacher was mean not realising she was behind her. Teacher want crazy shouting at her even although she could see how badly she was crying, telling her she get her golden time and group points removed. That was the story given to me by the other parents.

Im sure it was not nice to be called mean but to be honest I don't care at this point I don't feel it was right to let her get so upset and then let here leave school in such a state without coming out to see her Grandpa, Imagine she was one of the kids that got the bus!! I feel like she has been humiliated and bullied, am I over reacting. I feel so bad for not taking her seriously.

She has no problems with other teachers, they praise her as she really is one of those kid's that likes to do well ant tries hard.

She is only 7.

I would speak to the school tomorrow to get the full story. If that's really what's happened then the teacher is absolutely out of line but you really need to speak to the school before getting too wound up.
Even if that's not the full story the school needs to know how upset she was - it's worrying for her to be in that state

If it is the truth (& fwiw I believe it could be pretty close to it as her friends have no reason to lie) then it is absolutely inexcusable

Thank you. I am sure the teacher will have her own version of events but its more the level of upset. I just cant imagine why she thought it was ok to get her in that state and send her out of school like that with no explanation. I did try to call school but they put answer phone on, although they are to stay open till 4pm. I left a message saying she was very upset and could they call me as I could get no sense out of her and had no idea what happened. Nobody called back. When I left the message I had not head from other parents at that point She went to bed at 3.15, refused dinner, bath and cried herself to sleep.

I am out of my mind with worry.

Oh dear, that's terrible. I would be worried too. In your shoes I probably wouldn't want to put her in tomorrow without first speaking to the school. She's only 7, bless her.

Best of luck for tomorrow, I hope you get it sorted

Thank you. She only has this teacher on a Monday for an hour as PE is with another teacher rest of the week and she loves her class teacher. I feel she is safe in his class, so she can go to school. I just don't think she can have PE with this teacher ever again, I do not trust her with my child. Can I request that?

I have no idea tbh - you could check their complaints procedure.
I think you should be able to pull her out of that lesson as you have significant welfare concerns but that's only my personal opinion.

I have to go to bed now as I have an early start but I will check back tomorrow and hopefully you will have had a positive chat with the school.

Good luck, try and get some rest tonight - totally hypocritical as I would spend the night tossing and turning and cursing dh for being able to sleep!

100 laps around the hall for a 7 year old? Isn't that a little excessive? Or not? I wouldn't be happy with the shouting. I would take it up with the school.

Yes. 100 laps is a bit much, especially as she had already come in last.

Not only is 100 laps excessive, it's humiliating. Not to mention
Dickensian. The teacher is definitely in the wrong here. Is her name Trunchball? Confused

I would contact the school and ask for someone to investigate what really happened. Please read my post on high to get a satisfactory response from your school. bit.ly/1561xVk
