Bitchy teenage girls!

My 13 year old daughter has always been pretty and popular at school and we have never had any problems with friendships until now. She fell out with one of her best friends last week as another friend showed her evidence that this girl had been bitching about her in private messages on Facebook. When confronted with this the 'friend' refused to admit she'd done anything wrong and defected to another group of notoriously bitchy girls who she is now apparently best friends with. Ex friend is now making up code names for my daughter and posting horrible statuses about her on Facebook and Twitter using these code words. The other two bitchy girls have also become involved and it seems to be spiralling out of control. My daughter still has lots of friends on her side but I am worried that these two very powerful girls are going to turn others against her. How should I deal with this!
