info for carers on using ebm

Hi there, I know some of you have been through this in the not too distant past... I have to go back to work very soon and ds2 will be at nursery 2 days a week, on ebm and not formula. I would like a simple handout to give to them about how to use ebm, including stuff like, it takes far longer than formula to go off so don't throw away the rest of the bottle if he didn't finish it, and telling them why it might look a bit funny if they are used to formula.

I do have some info from LLL ('Storage and handling of expressed breastmilk' ) but I'm really looking for something a bit more carer-friendly. Ds2 has reflux and has recently been refusing bottles from dp and other family members so I suspect the nursery are probably not looking forward to feeding him anyway. Anything very reassuring would be great.

I'm sure I remember seeing a 1 page summary in a NCT magazine a few years ago but I can't find it now. And I'm sure I can type something out myself if I need to but I'm just feeling a bit lazy

There is an NCT booklet on b/f and returning to work but it isn't as easygoing on lenghtoftime etc as LLL is. I'll have a dig through my past NCT mags tomorrow for you and ask around.

You could try the following link from the ABM site:

ABM

I think they also do a fridge magnetic you can order with all info on expressed milk storage for about 50p.
