And well-written.

And completely ignored

Not by me hunker. Thanks for posting this again.

It's really sad - the media took over the message and it all came out like an attack on Jordan and formula feeding mothers

Thanks, RPP

Tiktok, many in the media ought to be ashamed of themselves, I think. But I guess keeping opinion festering away sells papers. Resolving things is unfashionable, because then there's nothing to write about. MUCH better (for sales) to have angry ranting columnists

Particularly galling if the next edition of OK features the martyr St Jordan of SMA, breastfeeders' arrows puncturing her flesh. It was never what was intended...

nnn, I think I might be Quite Cross if that happens.

Yet still a little dig at her in there...

"I hope she will be more alert to the impact she can have in future. She is influential and some people will learn from her example."

All this may well be true, but if you are arguing that your beef is with SMA, then that is where it should be.

Better to have left her completely out of it IMO. To do otherwise undermines an important message.

well the initial thread WAS an attack on Jordan in parts unless I am blind

and one or two posters attacked ff as well

see these threads start out with the right intentions and then turn into a free for all

I think people are bored of it now, I know I am

Isnt it terrible how "the breast feeding lobby" are being completely misrepresented and made to look like a bunch of loonie obsessives?

Report
hunkermunker · 14/08/2007 15:51

OO, if you're SO bored of it, why read/post on the threads, just to say you're bored of it?

oh excuse me, I thought this was a discussion board

I think that Jordan is a valid target, in some respects.

Formula isn't a valid target in any way.

But the manufacturers and Jordan and OK! magazine - they should all have known better than to advertise like this, because it's against the law.

actually oliveoil said more than "im bored of it".

Report
hunkermunker · 14/08/2007 15:53

Um, it is.

But I am just surprised that you post to say you're bored of it so often.

I don't post on Boden threads to say I'm bored of Boden.

because I am sick to death of seeing threads about it all day long

all saying the same things

give it a bloody rest

The trouble is that Jordan is a mother who is formula feedeing. So attacking her looks like an attack on formula feeding.

And if you say your complaint is against SMA, that then is what you talk about.

SMA vs Jordan - now which criticism is the media more likely to pick up on.

I don't disagree with the complaint, but I think the focus should solely be on SMA.Or the message is diluted.

It goes without saying though, Hunker, that one should be bored of Boden, eh?

Thanks for the link. The whole thing seems odd to me. That the magazine would print such a blatant advert, that Ms Price would happily tout their wares like that. It was all just so.....obvious. Seemed really bizarre in the context of what was supposed to be an interview about her new baby. But was actually a big fat advert pretending to be an interview. I wonder how much collusion went on?

I think Jordan is a legitimate target too.

(mind you you've been saying the same thing for years - but still end up posting on the )

Isnt it awful how every body sees "the breast feeding lobby" in a bad and/or loonie light?
Its such a shame
How is it POSSIBLE that SO MANY people can get it wrong? Its a conundrum.

I'm not saying she isn't. I'm saying it is perhaps not the best way to get your point over.
