Hi, I'm struggling with settling a very windy 4 day old BF baby. I saw on one of the other thread someone (Determination?) mention baby yoga stretches to help relieve wind, can anyone describe them to me?

Would highly recommend birthlight baby yoga classes we both really enjoyed them. I was given details of baby massage from my health visitor can try to describe as it really worked but you need to do it regularly, if you can at every nappy change.

You start by running hands down body from under rib cage one at a time with some pressure and making sure you use the flat of your hand not the edge, each hand 6 times.

Then push knees together into middle and up into the chest.

Then pull legs out and run both hands down each leg several times

Then you Pass hands across the tummy from left to right with some pressure. Right hand all the way across and left hand starting at middle. Do this several times.

Again push knees together and into chest this time bouncing them into chest a few times and pull legs straight. I was told that this would cause baby to pass wind but actually often made him sick a bit.

It really worked for us and have now stopped as he is fine now (10 weeks old), was advised not to do it anytime the baby was distressed but do several times a day at nappy change and take care not to put pressure on rib cage.
Hope this helps and my description is ok!
