Having had soreness before when feeding is there anything I can do to 'toughen up' while pregnant?

No, I don't think there is anything to do to toughen up. If you've bf successfully before, then the chances are high that you will bf this time round with far less soreness.

I know everyone says this but you really just need to concentrate on getting your positioning and attachment right, then you shoudln't have the soreness in the first place.

That said, even when you get everything right a lot of people still find it uncomfortable for the first few weeks, so do stick it out. Anything more than discomfort though - cracks or bleeding - and you probably just need to adjust your latch.

Have you got a breastfeeding support gruop near you that you can tap into? It is always great to have a moan to like minded mums

Lanisol wokred great for me. I put it one after each feed. Within a fortnight I did not need it anymore.

Lansinoh was good for me too. The good thing about it is that you can put it on before a feed, soften your nipples up a bit, and you don't have to wipe it off - it is save for your baby.

and remember to change your breastpads A LOT. that helps too.
It can be tough the first few weeks, but as you know, it's worth it!

Rewarding yourself with plenty of cake during feeds can ease the pain.
