Hi, just wanted to talk about some of the local events we are holding for B/F awareness week. We've had a fantastic picnic in the park, although a bit damp, and loads of LLL meetings and group gatherings are happening but our big event is a Breastfeeding Awareness Networking Lunch on friday (18th) from 12.30-2pm in the Community Hall at Tidworth Lesiure Centre.

This is an opportunity to:

o Meet local health professionals and breastfeeding mothers.
o Find information on breastfeeding and breastfeeding resources.
o Meet with lactation consultants and breastfeeding counsellors.
o Discover the local services available for mothers and babies.

This event aims to be an informal networking session with:

o Free buffet lunch.
o Welcome and Introductions at 1pm.
o Displays and stands including those from La Leche League, NCT and local breastfeeding support groups.

All Welcome including babies and children.

I am constantly amazed by the passion and committment that so many people give to supporting other B/F mums. hopefully this is a real chance for health professionals and B/F organistations and mums to get together, to start providing a real united approach to B/F support in our area. Will let you know of how successful it all is...xxxxxxx

Just to say, this was a fantastic event, we had over 40 people (plus loads of kids and babies) representing all the local B/F organisations, our lovely midwifes, Health visitors, doulas, local charities, RIN, ASK. A wonderful lunch, big thanks to all the girls who put so much effort in! We were on the local radio and in the press, superb. It was amazing to all get together, as we all share so much passion for the same cause in supporting B/F. Fingers crossed its the start of lots more positive things in our area!
