hi. just wondering how to get my dd to try drinking from something else other than me. i've tried sterile water, juice, expressed breast milk, infant formular. also i've tried cup feeding her, using a spoon, lots of different beakers and bottles but she refuses everything but me. i tried to give up for 2 days just to see whether she would give in and just expressed my milk when she slept instead but then after not weeing for so long i gave in again. i've followed loads of tips about warming teats up, sitting in a new place and everything i can think of but i don't seem to be getting anywhere with her and she's the same for anyone else. she's 10 months old, she was 11 weeks early so it took a long time to get bf established fully with her. she eats well, three meals a day but she just won't take liquids from anything else and i want her to now although i want to carry on mainly bfing her. any tips on what worked for anyone else?

I would carry on bf as usual, but have a cup of water around all the time, just so she gets used to seeing it. Perhaps show her that you can drink with it, then leave her to it. She will get the hang of it eventually. I don't think ds really got into using his cup until a bit older than this. Breastmilk is obviously satisfying all her thirst needs atm!
