Anyone had a breast reduction and managed to breast feed?

Just wondered as when I had my op a couple of years ago was told to assume i wouldn't be able to breastfeed (though was told that rarely some women do manage).
I'm now 26 weeks pregnant and have noticed some milk-like liquid leaking from my boobs. is this a good sign I wonder? Would be really interested to hear about anyones experiences. Thanks!!

Lots in the archives about this, Ginger....search 'breastfdeeding after reduction'. You'll find it very hopeful

yes i know a couple of women who have had reductions and have gone on to breatfeed succesfully.

it is very much dependant on the success of the op but i think that mostly it is do'able.

good luck with the pregnancy

I had part of my breast removed due to a growth (luckily benign). This included some milk ducts. It was only on one side but actually this is the more productive side for me. My DD is on the 98th percentile so clearly, they are working okay

Colostrum is a good sign btw! Hurrah, sounds like you may be gearing up for business.
