Could my breastmilk be making dd sick?

This is a bit wierd. I have breastfed dd for 9 months, and just got my period back. On Sunday, after lunch and just after bf, she vomited all her lunch up. On Monday night she vomited after dinner and bf. Fine yesterday, then tonight she did the same after having eaten a tiny bit of dinner, then bf a few hours later. She's also been much more unsettled and taking longer to get to sleep every night, was in a good routine and sleeping 7.30 til 6 ish most nights, now crying and not settling properly til 9 or even later some nights.

Could there be any connection? I don't think she's ill because she has eaten and kept down breakfast and lunch fine every day, and straight after being sick she has been fine, also quite chirpy most of the day. And her nappies are normal, no diarrhea (sorry i can never spell that). Any ideas?

I wouldn't have thought that it was your breastmilk making your daughter ill sick as I don't think there should be anything in it to do that unless she has a dairy intolerance and is intolerant to the dairy products you eat that are passed through the milk. Although I was told that when I was bf it is possible for some things you eat to upset your child e.g. onions and cabbage and other windy inducing foods, but I think that applies more for smaller babies. Hopefully someone more expert will be along in a minute. Are you able to ask your Health Visitor? Also I've found my ds can throw up and be fine straight away afterwards even though he is ill so maybe she has got a bit of a bug.

Doubt it.
Probably just a bug in which case your milk is the very best thing for her.

It is highly unlikely to be your breastmilk making her sick - it is more likely that she has a little bug of some sort. I think it is coincidental that your period has returned. My DS2 vomited for a couple of days before he revaled that he had scarletina. It might be that she has a virus working away at the moment and if that is the case your breastmilk antibodies will help her fight it.

If so would i be better just breastfeeding for a few days and no solids? I just don't get why she would only be sick once a day if it's a bug - mind you she is bf four times a day too..

Do what you feel is right.
If mine were like this,I tended to cut back on food and up the b/feeds.

Funny things babies.
A mystery unto themselves.
Who knows why they do what they do eh?
