Infant feeding

Finishing breastfeeding and dairy alternatives

Hi all,
This is my first post, although I have been know to lurk...
DD is one this week and I need to stop breastfeeding. I'm getting pretty tired and need a break. I've managed to drop the afternoon feed, leading to a massive tantrum (her, not me). So, we're down to morning and night.
Two problems. Firstly, I don't think dairy entirely agrees with her. She has eczema and it's very up and down and thus impossible to work out what really causes it to flare up. I suspect the best thing to do is give her a break from dairy every so often. So, what would be a good alternative? Soy milk? If so, how much does she need a day? The same volume as cow's milk? Which is what??
She has had some cow's milk from a beaker, but I can't see her managing more than 2oz/60ml before throw the beaker on the floor in boredom.
Secondly, I don't know how to drop the feeds without her getting incredibly upset. The afternoon was bad enough, but at least I could just load her in the buggy and run! The morning might be okay if I can get her porridge down her quickly enough. Evening is going to be a nightmare. Any ideas to make it a smoother transition?
Thanks all.

Just needs the good stuff like calcium etc in dairy products, so a 'milk' replacement not essential if her diet is rich enough in calories and calcium - my LO just had juice/water to drink and I gave her a vitamin/mineral supplement. Minadex is nice and contains calcium.
