How much milk does your 6-7mth old drink in a day?

DS is BLW'd and has a wide variety of foods (lots of which ends up on the floor of course!)

He's been bottle fed in the day for about 4wks now (from breast originally)and i've recently stopped b/feeding at night too. He is drinking about 16-18ozs in 24hrs. It doesn't seem enough to me.

Hi, my ds's weight gain drastically slowed down when solids introduced. He was excl bfed. Only when he was 11 mths and drinking from bottles did I realise he wasn't drinking enough milk (about what your ds is drinking). I think it is too little for 6-7tmhs, but would keep an eye on his weight. I still have to give my 13mth old 3 lots of milk a day as he won't drink more than 3-4oz at a time. Maybe just up the frequency of feeds, giving small ones...

oh, also meant to say...i think he went off milk when he had food to eat and all those interesting tastes (and he always ate well so couldn't understand his weight issue). He hated babyrice with milk! Since he was bf on demand I didn't realise he wasn't drinking much.

My ds is 26 weeks, starting weaning at 21 weeks. Was bf, now on bottles - has 31oz of milk a day. Little guzzler, only just added it up! Am just about to introduce gluten (ie more carbs) and pretty much what we eat, so am expecting him to take less milk now. Think they're meant to have about a pint (20oz) a day so I wouldn't worry as you're not far off.

I've just been told by hv, that at this age food becomes more important and they need around 20oz a day including what they have in their meals ie, milk in creal, yoghurt, cheese etc. So, if you're worried he's not drinking enough milk you could give cheese and yoghurt to make up for it..

this has been a useful read... i read in a book that my five and half months old shoould have 32 oz a day and was worried... he is partly breastfed and eating veggie solids.. but was worrying not enough... used to drink a full 7oz bottle of expressed milk, now only 3 oz at best at a time....

any thoughts on this?
