Distracted 19wk old during breastfeeding

DS has been really annoying bfing for the past two weeks. He starts off well then he keeps unlatching after a few sucks and latching back on and so on and so forth. Sometimes he really fusses in the boob, kicks/pushes with his legs, wriggles, writhes, hits me with his arm etc.
It only happens in the day, at night he feeds then falls asleep.

Is it to do with the 4 month changes? Do I just wait for this annoying stage to pass?

No suggestions, but my 19 wo is doing exactly the same... He keeps coming off and then won't latch back on till I smile at him! Really cute but very annoying!!

Not much you can do but minimise distractions and mutter 'this too shall pass'. DD was terribly distractible from about 4-6 months. During the day she'd pretty much only feed if I stood up and walked/ jigged around. This was fucking annoying, as you can imagine. But I quickly got over the fact that every public feed involved flashing my nipples to all and sundry (because she'd still pop off every 2 seconds, scream, meaning everyone would turn and look and see my exposed boobs that were bobbing around as I was feeding standing up and jigging around). Like you, nighttime feeds were fine. There are tips on the Kellymom website for dealing with distractible babies here

Just came on here to ask the same sort of question OP! Just counted and ds2 is 21 weeks. With ds1 this all had me reaching for bottles, but I'm keen to keep bf for longer this time.
Ds2 is feeding LOADS at night though - prob compensating for his rubbish day feeding. Any more advice from those who made it through this 4/5 month stage - will it get easier? Should I be trying to reduce the midnight / all-night feasts??

Same here, DD2 is 20 wks and has been so distracted with her feeds over the last week. She's also waking more in the night- we had a couple of goibg through 9pm-6am stretches amongst the normal 4am wake ups buy last few nights it's been every couple of hours. I think it's being distracted in the day and not getting enough milk in her. I hope it passes. I was FFing DD1 at this point so have no frame of reference. I'm sure it'll pass...

I mix fed and at this stage mine was distracted whether having boob or bottle. It's just a developmental stage. Annoying and cute in equal measure and passes soon enough.
