Feeding and night time nappy changes

Just wondered what people do about these? I've been told to reduce them/not do them so baby doesn't wake up too much but am reluctant to do this as he is still feeding frequently and weeing and pooing all the time. Also he had bad nappy rash as a newborn ( now 7 weeks) and I don't wanna go back there. ( metanium worked a treat)

I've started changing him befor ehis breast feed so he is more drowsy after the feed.

Any thoughts?

Hi!
my dd is 12 weeks, breast fed and sleeps 7pm-4/5/6am I never change her nappy at night as it totally wakes her up.

we did the cc plan at 8 weeks, before that the nights were all different and sometimes I did have to change her as I felt to guilty to leave her.

your son is a bit young yet IMHO, but soon you can happily leave him.
ps i use tesco own nappies or pampers, always wash her with cotton wool and warm water and air dry for a good 5 mins each change she has. the only time she got nappy rash was when i was out with her and cleaned her little bum with wipes... so its water all the way now.

Definitely change if lo is really awake or has done a poo, and put on a good barrier cream to protect from wetness. We love Bee Balme. I have always fed on demand day and night, but better to change nappy first unless desperate...

thanks - what's the cc plan?

I have always used cottonwool and water and never wipes. I also leave him out to dry, sometimes like that for 20 mins.

Think when DD was about that age I used to change her nappies every time she woke up for a feed during the night (2-3 times), even when they weren't too full, it was like an habit. Used cotton wool and water until 3months.

I always change her nappies before feeding not after because she falls asleep while eating, so don't want to wake her up.

I have only ever done nappy changes if a poo is present.
In the early days that was every feed in the night too but after a few weeks it was rare so never did it.

I only ever changed mine at night if they'd got a pooy nappy. And not always then if I could kid myself I'd not noticed...

Ha soup drago you sound like me...if you can't see/hear/smell the poo, then it does not exist.

my dd never poos at night now, I like to think I trained her. (deluded, yes.)
