Sterilising bottles

I've been sterilising multiple bottles at a time in the microwave. Once done I take the lid off the steriliser and use one of the bottles. However 3-4 hours later when I'm next ready to feed baby I get the next bottle out the steriliser and use that but by then the lid has been removed from the steriliser for some time, does this really matter or do I really gave to sterilise each bottle at a time?

Once the steriliser has been opened it's no longer sterile. But you can put all the bottles back together, with lids on tight and they'll stay sterile for 24 hours like that. I do enough for 24 hours, once a day.

The bottles are never really going to stay totally sterile, and it doesn't matter that much. The important thing is that they are clean, and the really important thing is that the milk is made properly (with 70c+ water) as that is where the bacteria is.

I would sterilise them all and then assemble all the bottles at the same time and then store them ready for use.

The bottles should be sterilised (kills any bacteria from milk that hasn't been properly cleaned off), but they dont need to be sterile when you use them.
