Hi, the past few days I've had a sharp shooting pain which radiates from my nipple after feeding has finished. Any ideas what this could be ? Latch is fine and dd is gaining weight.

Maybe thrush? Any signs in baby's mouth?

Is it also turning white? Eg lack of blood supply?

Maybe a small milk blister that's blocking a duct?

What would that look like? A milk blister?

A little white dot somewhere on your nipple, they can be quite small.

I had this and never properly found out what it was, although through googling the most likely culprits are thrush or vaso spasm. I can't remember when but it just stopped hurting one day.

Just to add I was diagnosed with thrush and the pain got lot better but then started getting pain after feeds which came in waves this lasted few weeks. I think I read thrush treatment can cause vaso spasm.

Vaso spasm. I have had it really badly with DS3. There is not much you can do. Mine has gotten a lot better. Even though I thought latch was fine. I found that if I worked hard on his positioning it helped a little. Also keeping my nipple warm immediately after feeding helped.
